Starting a new career at forty

Changing fields after years can look like madness. Sometimes it’s just honesty.

For years I was good at a job that no longer said anything to me. Being good at it became the perfect excuse not to leave.

The fear of starting at the bottom

Being a beginner again was humbling in the first weeks and freeing in the months that followed.

“It’s never too late to be a beginner at something that makes sense.”
