A thought from Rose

Growing older with curiosity

Photo accompanying “Growing older with curiosity”

The grey hairs arrived. With them came the wish to learn new things.

I found my first grey hair in a shopping-centre bathroom mirror. I laughed to myself, then stood there looking for a while.

What I still want to learn

I made a list: pottery, Spanish, swimming properly, growing tomatoes. Growing older, for me, will be this — to keep beginning.

“Age counts the years. Curiosity counts what’s still left to live.”
