A thought from Rose

My first time alone at the cinema

Going out alone used to seem sad. It became one of my favourite kinds of company.

I bought a ticket for a Tuesday afternoon screening and chose the middle of the room. I thought everyone would notice.

Nobody was looking

Nobody noticed. I laughed when I wanted, cried when I wanted and walked out slowly, thinking about the film without having to discuss it with anyone.

“Being alone isn’t being without company. Sometimes it’s the best company there is.”
